KitchenAid Disposer with magnestart cover control
Model Number: kws-200 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: More than 10 years
The disposer won't shut off sometimes when you pull the magnestart cover control out. and also sometimes when you bang hard on the counter next to the sink the disposer turns on and you have to put the magnestart back in to turn it off

this might be the same one I have and I am having the same problem. Is it the type of cover you place in the drain and turn to to switch it on? the wings of the cover make some sort of connection inside??
