Garbage Disposer Repair

Just recently the disposal is making a clacking noise when it is on. It will take care of the garbage, but continues to sound like metal is hitting metal. It doesn't feel like any foreign object is in the mechanism and actually the pieces the spin around actually feel like they are loose. Is there any way to tighten these up?
