I have a side by side Amana refregerator that is two years old. A few days ago the refrigerator part stopped cooling so we had a repair man look at it. He replaced the thermostat and the freezer control switch. It worked for about two days and did the same thing again. The repairman came back,played with the machine and set it the cooler switch to setting #2 and said not to touch it. Mind you this setting is on the refrigerator side, the next day everything was frozen in the refrigerator side. I have been calling him back but He keeps sayng I will be ther but later does not show up. My question is what would make one side work and the other not, and was i sold parts that I probably did not need

You have a thermostatically controlled air damper that lets more, or less air into the fridge. section. Pull the front panel off inside the fridge section and check, the damper door might just be jammed open. Post results.
