Got The Maytag Neptune bearings out
Finally got the bearings out. However it is clear to me you gotta take the tub completely out!
Pulled the outer bearing almost all the way out with the modified puller, pounded it out the rest of the way with a steel pipe, turned the tub around and pounded out the really bad inner bearing with a 2 inch pipe and my log splitter. In retrospect, I should have inspected the outer bearing better as it was perfect and pounding it out messed up the bearing cover. I should have just left it in, however leaving it in makes it harder to pound out the inner bearing as the sleeve is in the way. In the future I will use a steel pipe to pound out the inner bearing first and leave the outer bearing in if ok. Hope this info helps someone.
