Ram cycles down and when it comes back up and reaches the top of its cycle it starts hammering like a gear is slipping. Have to step on the foot pedal and open the door to get it to stop. It completes it's cycle & starts a thumping noise. It should not start until the toe switch is activated & should stop when it reaches the end of the cycle. I need the stop & start switch. Part number 114474 was changed to Whirlpool 4161248. These part numbers are no longer available. The part was called Program switch-stop and start. I need an alternate part that can be used. Anyone have a suggestion. Trash compactor is approximately 25 years old. This is the first problem I have had with it.
