Source for part
I need to find a source for a SPDT 140F - 10F thermal switch for this old dryer. Of course Whirlpool does not list a replacement and I cannot find anyone who sells generic thermal snap switches. I find a lot of SPST switches but not a single SPDT. In this dryer, Maytag replaced the high limit switch with a thermal fuse so I cannot use a thermal cycling switch that goes much above 140F. Of course I can find the parts on the thermal switch manufacturer's sites but they don't sell to individuals. I checked Mcmaster-Carr and Grainger's sites but they don't have them either.

Just a guess but is this it.
Part number: AP4037126 Click on the picture a new page opens with other views. Click on the center picture here and it shows it as a 140 -10 F thermostat. |
Not SPDT
This is a SPST part not a SPDT. I have three wires and this part only has two terminals so it will not work. None of the parts sites on the web have the part needed for this dryer. It is still made but no dryer manufacturer uses it so it cannot be found on any dryer parts site. I just need a source for generic snap switch thermostats in quantity of one.

OK lets try this one
Here is a parts breakdown, take a look at Item 1 in Section 10 Replacement parts for MAYTAG DE4000 Dryer - Ele | AppliancePartsPros.com I have a wiring diagram for a DE4000 & DE8000 and it shows a Blue wire to the Common, a Purple wire to the Normally Closed and an Orange wire to the Normally Open. |
Thank you
Thank you. I think that is a 155 degree part but based on your input i found a 140 degree part that should work but I ordered both just in case.
