![]() Hi, I'm having a problem with my dryer. I purchased this thing about 2.5 years ago, it's an Elite HE5. Here's how the problems started. My wife finished a load of laundry waited 10 minutes and started another load. 5 minutes into the load the dryer tripped the breaker. she turned the breaker back on, and started the dryer again. 5 minutes later the dryer tripped the breaker again. This time she waited 30 minutes with the door open and started it again, the load finished drying. A day later I went to start a load and I got a beep, an orange light by the "sensing/revising estimated time" label, and a click that I later narrowed down to a relay on the Machine Control Electronics. There is no error code displayed, and the dryer will not start at all. I ran the diagnostic test mode and got an F:70. I read the service tech's manual and saw that it meant "No Communication Between Electronics Assemblies." I know this means a new MCE board. But I'm wondering what caused my dryer to trip the breaker in the first place? And if I replace the MCE and I don't know what the original problem is will it blow out another MCE? Any ideas what may of caused the problem? Related Models |

Odds are good that it will. Any ideas what may of caused the problem? I would put the heater at the top of the list. Sometimes they can heat up, soften then sag and touch the case. I would remove and check it for any tell tale signs of shorting out re: a weld mark or soot. Next would probably be the motor.
