My K. A. dryer would not start yesterday. I kind of fiddled with the timer knob and it started. But since then the when I start it the heat comes on but after a while the heat goes off. I'm guessing the timer is telling the heat to cycle off when it shouldn't. Am I right? Should I replace the timer?

The motor circuit and the heater circuits usually use different timer contacts. Could be the timer cam/switches are messed up and that is your problem. Am I right? Cannot say for sure Should I replace the timer? If all you did was fiddle with the timer and it came on then it is probably the problem.
