runs but stop heating check the heating coil and it has current on one side but the side with the therm. has none, check all the therms. all the way to the timer and there is no current from the timer side going down to the therms.

If you're getting power to the timer, but not from it, the timer is most likely the culprit.

Here is your wiring diagram http://www.servicematters.com/docs/wiring/Wiring%20Sheet%20-%208528187.pdfYou have probably already done this at the timer but just in case. First try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker and the heating coil requires the full 240 volts. If this does nothing. Measure the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK As magician59 said it could be the timer. You could check this by unplugging the unit, put the unit to midcycle hi heat and measure the across the TIMER SWITCH 2. If open the timer is toast. Be sure to disconnect one side of the contact's connection. This prevents you from readind an alternate/parallel circuit path. |
