Dryer had a bad wire, now it wont start
Model Number: MDE8600AYW Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
Our dryer made a big zap and flash when we turned it on. So we replaced the bad wire that had grounded out and checked all the fuses. The bulb works but can't get dryer to work. Is there a reset button?

The first thing I would check are the two dryer circuit breakers in the breaker box.
Here are the break down diagrams and the wiring diagram for the Maytag dryer Model MDE8600AYW Gene.
