Dryer does not run right

Model Number: 110.70922000 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years

My dryer will run for about 20 seconds after I start it. If I hold the start button down it will continue but I hear clicks as if it is trying to turn off and on. There also seems to be some resistance in the turning of the drum that may be causing the clicking. I can manually spin the drum. Any ideas?
