Model Number: dlb2880dplwh Brand: Hotpoint Age: 5 - 10 years
This dryer has been working fine, but since about 2 weeks ago, it's had this recurring problem. During a timed cycle, it will cut off after 10-15 minutes of drying. Sometimes it will start right up, then other times it will only start up after sitting for a few minutes. When restarting, it will cut off sooner, usually aroung 5 minutes or so. The exhaust vent is blowing fine. My guess is a faulty thermostat is allowing the dryer to get too hot causing it to shut off, but I'm not real sure. When I looked at the parts diagram, there are three thermostats. Any ideas of what might be the culprit?
