Went to check the clothes dryer last night and it had shut off. Clothes inside were so hot I could hardly handle them. The dryer would not re-start for another load. After a few hours, the top of the dryer was still very warm. Found that the heat element was still on until I turned the selector knob to any of the "off" positions. Now if I turn the knob to any of the heated cycles and push start, the heat element will come on (I can see the orange glow through the grate on the back of the drum) but that's it. I know Ropers are cheap, its about 1 1/2 yrs old, but is this thing shot or would a repair attempt be cost effective?
