Hi, I have a DG608, series 01, Maytag gas dryer. The dryer works great and all functions work properly except for one. The dryer will not shut off when clothes are dry. It only has the automatic dry function. The bell rings (although the plastic piece attached to the hammer solenoid is broken so the bell isnt ringing quite right), it just won't shut off until I open the door. Once I open the door, I have to push the starter to resume use of the dryer. I have replaced the moisture sensor bar with a new one. I have also cleaned all of the ductwork, it is very clear. The next logical repair seems to be the "control switch," part 3-04473. I would like to be pretty sure this is the issue before I replace it, the part is $58, and no returns are allowed at my parts store. Does anyone here have experience with this issue? Thanks in advance!
