My dryer will not turn on...I think the start switch is faulty and would like validation if possible. I have had no problems since purchase and I replaced the vent line and cleared all lint 10 weeks ago.

My trouble-shooting includes noticing a slight initial deterioration...meaning earlier this week the dryer would not turn on and I moved the timer device thru several positions while trying the start button. After a few gyrations, the machine started and I successfully dried 4 loads of laundry last Wednesday.

Today, I cannot get it to work at all. I do hear the timer making a slight noise when in an 'on' position, the door switch is clicking when depressed. I have unscrewed the control panel and the wires all look fine...nothing loose, frayed or burned. The on switch looks like it is contacting OK when depressed.

It seems like the 'on switch' may have failed...is there any way to check this assuming you agree?
