Since second checking of the circuits. I have found that the start button doesn't seem to be responding to the start. I'm still not sure what to do. I don't want to throw good money into bad...

I noticed you have another post/thread saying you replaced the timer.
Please just use "POST REPLY" so there is just one thread otherwise it will get confusing.

More info on how you checked for power would be usefull re: where your meter leads were.

Here is the wiring diagram.
http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodinfo_pdf/Webster/131850300.pdf

Best to unplug the unit and check the components in the start circuit using resistance, also the safest. Could be the thermal fuse Item 36 in Section 1.

I am assuming that you can hear the timer running only when the start switch is pushed. If this is true that you know the switch is OK.
If it is blown get back to us as there are things you should check as to what caused it to blow.

A couple things to watch when measuring ohms and continuity
1. Always remove power from the machine otherwise you could blow your meter.
2. Always disconnect at least one side of any device you are checking. This eliminates the possibility of measuring an alternate/parallel circuit path.
3. When checking for closed contacts and continuity use the lowest scale (Usually 200 ohms). Then try higher scales. This scale is 0 to 200 ohms so if the device you are measuring is 300 ohms this scale would show an open circuit which it is not, you are just measuring outside the scale's dynamic range.

There is a good STICKY at the start of this forum about it's use.
THIS FORUM IS DEAD!!!!!!!
