Default Dryer will not run
Model Number: ADE20K3A   Brand: Admiral   Age: More than 10 years

This is my mother-in-laws dryer.
She is not sure of this dryers age.
She called me when the dryer stopped working.
Nothing happens when the start button is pushed.

There is 220 at the outlet.
Checked with voltmeter.

I can hear the timer running door opened or closed.

The fuses checked OK (three I believe).
Door switch checked OK.
Motor has continuity to the windings.
Checked with ohm meter.

Any suggestions?
Thanks.

There is a thermal fuse on the heater housing, hard to see and replace, probably bad. Comes as a kit AP415996

I had to search for a while before I finally found that fuse.
That was not easy to find but I got it replaced.
I also replaced the belt.

I put it back together and it ran fine.
I made sure the vent was clear.

However, when I went to start it again, all I heard a hum.
The drum would not turn.
It would start to turn if I pushed the door switch and gave the drum a push but as soon
as I let go of the door switch and tried to start it with the door closed, it would just hum.

Seems like you now have a bad motor.
