The dryer just quit heating about 3 weeks ago, and I don't know how to test or what to test.

Check each of the components on back starting with the heating element.
How? Using a Ohm Meter. Don't have a fancy smancy meter? Make a poor man's meter. Get a flash light and rig it where you can run a couple of wires out of it and by touching those 2 wires together the light comes on. Bingo you have a poor mans meter. Next yank a wire off of each thing you test so that you won't get a false loop reading. By removing a wire from each thing being tested you eliminate the old ghost circuits in appliances. Anything which does not cause that light to come on is DEFECTIVE!a back of a dryer.jpg |
