I have this model, too. Inherited with the house we bought two months ago. Worked well until the belt fell off the other day. I opened it up and found the belt loose and the one item (angeled bracket with white guide-wheel on it) lying on the bottom of the dryer, clearly not where it was supposed to be. I don't know what to call this item, but it clearly is meant to apply tension to the belt. I couldn't figure out where to slip it back into place, but I found your drawing and will give it a shot this weekend. Thanks!
BTW, do you know if the bracket/guide is meant to be screwed in place? I can tell that it is meant to be slipped into a slot at the bottom of the chassis, but the bracket also has what looks like a screw-hole in it. Is it meant to be attached to the chassis with a screw or peg? Thanks again! |

I found out the name of the part is "idler pulley". It is here:
http://www.********************************.com/part...tSearch&blt=11 And the belt is here: http://www.********************************.com/part...tSearch&blt=11 I'm still curious to know if the idler pulley is meant to be bolted down or not. Also, although the belt looks fine, if it slipped off does this mean it needs to be replaced? Or the fact that the idler pulley came loose from its moorings ...does that indicate some problem I haven't seen? Thanks for any comments. |
