Can anyone provide me with a picture of the inside of a centrifugal switch? This is for a Kenmore and I don’t know how old it is but its not new. I see how it works, duh, but it seems backwards to me. When the motor over speesds the weights move and allow a lever to move which releases the pressure applied to the spring in the switch and that opens the circuit. But I think the circuit should be closed because if I jump the switch (M1 to M2) everything works. I haven’t changed the position of any of the wires or anything it just stopped working one day. Switch part # 337351 and motor # 695075.

What exactly is wrong with the dryer?
What is the complete model number of the dryer?

It won’t start. There is no hum or ticking of the timer. The thermal fuse is good, so is the start switch, heater, temp switch, door switch. It’s a Kenmore mod # 86670100 stock # 66701 but when I look up these numbers it says it’s an electric range.

Assuming there is 240 VAC at the dryer wall outlet the problem can be: A bad thermal fuse (#59 on the diagram), A bad door switch (#41 on the diagram) or A bad timer (#3 on the diagram). The motor is the last thing to think about, especially because the timer is silent. All of the above listed parts have to be checked for continuity. You said that all of them are good. I would like to know how did you check them. The wiring diagram should be inside the control panel, perhaps glued to the rear cover. You'll need it to check the timer. - The thermal fuse Part number: AP3132867

I saw the wiring diagram and have been using a multimeter to check for continuity. How should I check the timer for continuity?

Did you ever figure this switch out? I have the same one, I'd like to test to see if the motor is fried or not. You mentioned jumping M1 and M2. I tried this and got nothing. So I have a couple questions if you dont mind. Thanks
