I have just installed a new felt drum seal on my Whirlpool Gold dryer. After I reassembled the unit the drum would not rotate. It appears as if the new felt it too tight. I even went so far as to wet the felt in the hopes that it would soften and take a better shape to allow the drum to spin. This also did not work. Any thoughts?

Check to make sure it isn't wrapped in the wrong direction.

Mike,

What did you end up doing about the tight felt drum seal? I have the same problem on my fridgidaire. I can barely turn the drum by hand. I haven't tried turning it on though.
