I am currently fixing the door latches which somehow managed to have the springs jump off of them, my question is once i attach the spring to the latch where does it attach to in the dryer?

The door latch actually consists of two parts: strike (left side on the picture) and catch (right side). Strike goes into the door and catch pushes in the hole on the frame. The door latch is not repairable and due to its very low cost ($3.22), it's worth to order a new one.
