How difficult is it to change a blower wheel? My housekeeper dropped a wood clothes pin down the dryer vent while cleaning out the vent trap. When she closed the door, the dryer automatically started. The blower wheel must have broken at then time. When my husband and I removed the dryer vent from the rear of the dryer, we not only found the clothes pin but broken plastic pieces of the blower wheel.

My thanks,
Janis

The blower wheel is screwed on with lefthanded threads to it is righty loosy. The bad news is the wheel is stubborn to come off. The good news is it is broken so you ain't gotta worry about breaking it while removing it.I lock down the shaft with lock grip pliers inside the dryer(the drum is removed) and I insert a hammer handle in between 2 fins at the 3 oclock position and using a rubber mallet I pop the blade off with downward force.
