Model Number: 110.62952100 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
Hi,
Did a dumb thing when replacing the 3-prong power cord with a 4-prong. I attached the black wire on the 4-prong to the ground screw on the dryer and the green wire on the 4-prong to the black screw. This seems to have shorted out something (no fuses blown in the house) in the dryer as it won't start. I replaced the 4-prong power cord with another one to no avail. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Ads By Google Related Models |

Ok first check out the two pics below.
One is three connection, the other is four. Make sure that you have disconnected the ground strap from the center terminal if going with a four connection cord. ![]() ![]() As far as the dryer not starting is concerned (even though the breaker wasn’t tripped) you need to start by checking the voltage at the dryer cord connections to make sure that all voltage is present. Do you have a meter- and know how to check for AC voltage? |

Whats the make and model of the meter? If Radio Shack whats the catalog number? Since you dont know how to check for voltage this info will assist me in helping you to properly set the meter. Thanks Last edited by glen65 : 05-12-2008 at 09:27 AM. |
