Model Number: MDG3000AWA Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years
A friend of mine gave me this Maytag gas dryer about a year ago and it was working just fine when we unhooked it. I didn't need it at the time but since mine was pretty old I figured since it was free that it couldn't hurt to have a spare. It has been sitting in my basement unused for about a year until I hooked it up yesterday but, it won't heat up. It runs fine and I can see the glow from the igniter but no ignition or heat. I rechecked the gas supply line and it is fine and as I said, the dryer runs and the controls work but no heat. What could have gone bad just sitting? Coils, Gas valve? Burner? I'm open to suggestion.
Thanks, Dave: |

Krazy,
Sounds like one of three things: 1. gas valve coils 2. gas valve 3. no gas to the valve (check shut off valve inside the dryer). |

I am having somewhat the same problem. The dryer works just fine when you first turn it on then when it is time for the heat to come back on during the cycle there is nothing. The igniter glows for a time then goes out. If I stop the dryer for about 15 minute the restart the heat comes back on, what could be the problem.

I have a MAYTAG gas dryer MOD LDG8904AAE. When I first turn on the dryer works just fine. During the cycle the burner will shut down and will not come back on. The igniter will glow red for a time but the burner will not ignite. I can shut down the dryer for a few minutes and then turn on again and it will work fine for a while until it shuts off. What could be the problem.

I am having a similiar problem on my Maytag dryer, LDG7304AAE. The gas will come on, and light then the Hi limit Stat will click and turn the gas off. Replaced the hi limit stat, still turns off. Could it be the burner assembly or the gas valve? The flame takes up the entire combustion chamber, everything is clean, no clogs in the stack into the tub. Possible burner worn out (14 years old). I don't see a way to adjust the flame. Should the flame stay on with the front cover on, or does it heat the Hi limit stat? Even put the cover back on and can hear it click off.
Thanks, Steve V. |
