Model Number: MDG4000BWW Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
Problem: No heat during Cycle. The dryer was exposed to 220V by accident (I live overseas, the convertor that I was using got damaged).
Drum turns freely. Plenty of airflow out of dryer exhaust. When first turning on dryer, igniter glows, gas does NOT ignites, then the igniter glows again after 30 seconds and does that many times. I'm guessing the gas valve does NOT open and therefore is no burn. How many parts of the dryer can be damaged due to the 220V exposition? Many or just a few? I'm guessing the parts labeled with 120 V got broke or the machine has some short of protector, fuse or something? I want to buy the parts that are broke if the total cost is not more than buying a new machine. Thanks very much, Cielo (the lady with no clue) |
