Model Number: LER4634JTO Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
I would like to check to see if the thermo fuse on my dryer is the problem that needs fixed...I have a Sperry ohm meter DM-210A but I'm not quite sure how to use it...does the power have to be on to the dryer?...and how do I set the meter to show me if this is the problem? I've double checked everything 10 times with the dryer...the timer runs, it begins to heat but when I press the on button nothing happens...checked door also and breaker box...thanks

I can't tell you how to set your meter w/o seeing it, but you can check your t-fuse by:
Unplug dryer Remove the wires from the t-fuse and jump them together Make sure wires (now connected) aren't touching anything conductive (metal) Plug dryer in and start. If the dryer starts, runs, and heats replace t-fuse. |

KRO,
In addition to fixrec90, the following article on our forum will explain in detail how to run a continuity test using either an analog meter or a digital meter – How to check continuity with Ohmmeter. Gene.
