Default whirlpool electric dryer
Model Number: LER4634JTO   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years

I thought I had messed up the timer one day when I spun it 360 degrees while it was running. I bought a new timer but it still doesnt run...the dryer is making sounds and it heats up but no matter what I've try to do whenever I push the on button its not wanting to spin...the sounds coming from the dryer I believe are from the timer...I dont hear anything that would sound like a motor...kinda fustrating...the timer cost me $100...is there anything else that I look into without guessing and ordering another part I might not need? its been a great appliance for the 6 years we've owned it...just wondering if anyone could enlighten me...thanks

Hi,

If you have house fuse take a look at them first. The dryer would use two of them to make it run and heat.

Another simple thing you could check would be the door switch. Open the door and push the switch in by hand to see if you can hear it click on and off.

There are some thermo fuse in the dryer that will also make it not run if they go bad. You will need a ohm meter to check them.
