Default Kenmore Electric Dryer-No Heat
Model Number: 1106608911   Brand: Kenmore   Age: More than 10 years

Our electric dryer will not heat, but everything else works fine. I saw a couple of posts that might help but wanted to ask for help specific to this model before attempting repairs. Fuses at the panel are fine.
Thank you in advance.
jb.

Provided you have 240 volts coming to the dryer, here is what I would do. unplug the dryer, and take the back off, and ohm out the element. if you get a reading it is good. Then you have a thermal fuse on top of the heater housing above the element. Take 1 wire off, and ohm it out, again if you get a reading it is good, if not it is bad. If you need me you can reach me at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

If this is an old dryer and you have 240 volts, pull the plug from the wall and follow the plug cord where it enters the back of the dryer. There should be a ceramic thermal block, where the plug wires attach to the block.Check to see if there,s a wire burnt at the block, most likely the red wire.If so repair the wires with a connector and then check for heat.Or replace the block if the part is still avialabe.....good luck

I discovered that the heating coil wire had broken in 2 places. I reconnected the broken ends and reassembled the unit. All is working fine. Not bad for a LadyKenmore Dryer > 15 yrs. old. Thank you for all of your time and advice.
