dryer says door is open - it's not
Model Number: ALE956EAW Brand: Amana Age: 5 - 10 years
I just finished replacing the belt, now I cannot start the dryer. No matter what, it reads "door open". I'm thinking it's not the switch, because the interior light goes on and off properly - I'm stumped. I really don't want to think about the electronic control board - so expensive!
any ideas? ... Nevermind, I just found detailed info on another site. Since I've nothing to lose, I'm going to take the control board apart and look for a bad connection. Wish me luck. Last edited by THOR : 04-10-2008 at 12:23 PM.

You may have accidently knock door switch wire off.... chck the wires to switch shld be 3 wires
