Default Dyer Repair
Model Number: ADE7005AYW   Brand: Admiral   Age: 5 - 10 years

When I set the timer and push the knob to start the dyer will not start. The dyer has power to it because the light inside comes on and there does not seem to be any burnt wires. What may be the problem?

You have two thermostats (t-stats) on your heater (access by flipping the top back. Heater is in center rear. One is on top of heater and one is on the side. The one on the side is likely shorted. To test remove both wires from small t-stat on side of heater and jump them together. If your dryer starts replace both t-stats (if you only do the side you will have same problem even though thte top t-stat will ohm out ok). This would be the place to start. Be careful and unplug whenever near wires.

First thing I would check,is the power going to the dryer.I know you said the light is on but that does not tell you if you have 240 volt,s going to the dryer.Check your fuse panel there should be two fuses/breakers to run your dryer.check this first,THEN GO FROM THERE.
