Hi Sue

Your dryer is belt driven from a motor which also turns the blower that circulates air through and out the machine. When the drum stops turning it is usually because the belt is broken.

To get to it you will need to do the following.

1. Take out the lint filter
2. Take out the two phillips head screws that you now see in the lint filter chute on top of the machine.
3. Use a screw driver to "pop" up the top of the dryer. It will flip back, and let it rest against a wall.
4. Disconnect the door switch, marking how the wires go and take off the front by taking out the two screws that hold it on. It will lift off of clips.
5. If your belt is broken, take out the drum, which just lifts out the front. While you have it out, clean out the inside of the dryer. It will have a bunch a lint, and if you are luck about $2.00 in change. Inspect the rollers and oil them with a high temp oil if needed.
6. Put the drum back in. Put you new belt in. Look at the Sticky at the top of this page to see how it goes around the tension pulley. At this stage it is helpful to have someone to assist and hold things.
7. Reassemble the machine and you should be all set.
6.

Thank you. It worked very well. You might add to remove the front panel. Thanks again.
