Default Whirlpool dryer won't stop
Model Number: LE9300XTW0   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: More than 10 years

My dryer won't stop automatically, no matter what drying cycle I put it on. The clothes are very hot, but the timer seems to be broken. I wanted to check in here before replacing the timer. Do you agree I need a new timer? -Thanks

If it does not stop on the "Air" and "Timed" cycles then the timer has to be replaced.

If it does not stop on the "Regular" and "Perm. press" cycles only then I would recommend to check the timer resistor resistance first. It should be between 4050 Ohms to 4950 Ohms.

- The part number for the timer is AP2997394

- The part number for the timer resistor is AP3094277

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dryer Model LE9300XTW0

Gene.

Gene,

thanks very much for your detailed answer. It definately won't stop on the timed cycle, so I'll order the new timer. I'll also check the resistance of the timer resistance just to be sure.
