Model Number: DPSF495GV0WW Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
The impeller attached to the motor (#AP2043550) is now rubbing on the steel cover in the front lower lefthand corner of the dryer. The motor seems to be ok, but the shaft has about 1/4 inch of play from front to back. Would the motor have to be replaced?
I am going to replace the 4 drum slides and rear drum bearing kit. |

I'm afraid I did not get you right. When you said "impeller", which part did you mean: The motor pulley or The blower wheel If we are talking about the motor pulley, it has a screw which could be tighten. If we are talking about the blower wheel - it also has a screw which could be tighten and if it would not help then it has to be replaced. The motor shaft should not play and if it does - the motor has to be replaced. - The part number for the motor (including the motor pulley) is AP2043550 - The part number for the blower wheel is AP2043548 Here are the break down diagrams for the GE dryer Model DPSF495GV0WW Gene.
