When i push the start button on my electric dryer, it makes the end of cycle signal sound, but will not run. The light inside is working, but nothing else is happening.

A Make and Model Number may help others help you.

If it is the end of cycle buzzer it could be a timer problem.

May also be that the buzzing is coming from the motor trying to start.

The following will probably require two people.
Set the unit to air fluff. As running a unit with the door open can cause overheating blowing a thermal fuse.
Check it to see if it still does not start.
If it does not start.
Open the door and push the door switch so the unit thinks the door is closed.
Push the start switch and while it is buzzing rotate the dryer drum in the correct direction.
Watch you knuckles in case the unit starts up.
If it does start then you have a motor problem.
