Default drum out of line-staining clothes
Model Number: DE 212   Brand: Maytag   Age: More than 10 years

I am noticing black marks and some tiny holes on my clothes after dry cycle, where clothes appear to be caught on something inside dryer. I see a gap between rim on back of dryer. How do you re-align this?

Both the rear and the front tumbler seals have to be replaced.

In order to provide the right part number I need the color of the tumbler (gray or beige).

Gene.

the inside of the dryer is grey, and I can see a matted felt through the gap. Thank you for answering!

The part number for the front and rear tumbler seals (they are the same) is AP286710

You also need to order the adhesive to attach them. The part number for the adhesive is AP3970861

Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag dryer Model DE212

Gene,
I am having the same problem with my Sears 417.69052991 model dryer. My clothes are catching in the gap and getting discolored and stretched out of shape. The drum also is squeaking. Can you tell me what to do to correct this issue and what parts I need?

The same problem - the same solution.

You have to replace the front seal (there is no rear seal) which consists of two parts: the drum glide and the lower seal.

- The part number for the drum glide is AP2150497

- The part number for the lower seal is AP2143044

Default Replaced Drums Seals, but Drum not turning....

Hello,

I replaced the felt seals in the front and rear of the dryer. The drum turned fine before my repair, but now it turns very, very slowly. Any suggestions? Also, when putting in the felt seal, should it overlap at a tab or in between to prevent binding? Thanks for your help!

Default More information on Dryer

The model number on my Maytag is LDE7304ACE. In addition to replacing the felt drum seals, I replaced the drum wheels - one of which had fallen off the shaft. We used part no. 413820 - is this the rights seals for the front and back, but took them out when the drum was not turning and put in the old ones. Drum still won't turn though. Thanks for your help.
