I've always noticed that when the dryer is in use, that wash closet gets really hot. I then noticed recently dryer fuzz on the wall behind the dryer. I decided to take action - went to Home Depot to get new venting tub to replace on the outside of the dryer, anticipating that it was malfunctioning.

I found:

  • the third penetraion was not sealed and
  • the interior tubing from the dryer exhaust (internal front center) to the side penetration of the dryer was missing altogether - and there is a MESS of dryer fuzz inside the cotton pickin thing!!!

I unplugged the thing, cleaned and vaccumed up as much as possible - but how do I find the missing pieces, and how can I install it?

I will have need of this appliance very soon and want to resolve this adventure as soon as possible. Please advise.

Kind Regards

See if this is the parts your need

Part number: AP3130523
Part number: AP3130523

To get it clean you are going to have to take out the drum. That will give you access to put in the missing parts if the ones above are them.

Ok - I'm not confident with taking my dryer apart, and I've no idea what the right parts are since I've never had them. I would gather the aforementioned parts would do it, it's just getting to it that concerns me.

Thanks for the update....adventure is out there! ;)

Well, you should not start an adventure without a road map. Here is a service manual for a model like yours.

https://secured.whirlpoo...620794/$FILE/4322260.pdf

As long as you remember to unplug the dryer, you should not have any trouble taking it apart. Just take your time, give yourself plenty of room and if you can, enlist a helper if for nothing more than to talk with as you do the teardown. If you unhook any wires mark them before you disconnect them.

Good luck, open it up and see what you have and you should be fine.
