The door latch broke and seems simple enough to replace that, but here's my question... (front loading gas dryer)
I taped the door shut and the dryer tumbled and dried clothes. The next time I used it, it tumbled but did not heat.
I fiddled with the door pushing it tighter and securing it and the dryer heated, tumbled and dried.
If I replace just the latch, is there another part I should also order in conjunction with the latch that may be bad causing dryer to tumble but not heat? Is the heating function also controlled by the latch somehow?
I just want to make sure I order all the parts I need for repair.
thank you

It's hard to say at this time why it was drying intermittently. I would replace the door latch first and proceed with the troubleshooting, if needed. - The door latch kit Part number: AP3094183
