Dryer stopped with partially dried clothes and could not be started.
Eventually realized that L1 (120V motor side) breaker was tripped. Cleaned old dryer (way overdue) thoroughly and did an Ohm check of motor terminals after unplugging cable. All other components were Ohm checked and found with .2 Ohms or less.
terminal 4 (blue) to 5 (white) is 1.8 Ohms. Dryer still starts with no clothes.
Dryer has failed to start recently with heavy loads (we removed clothes and it did not trip the breaker).
I pulled the violet terminal 3 lead and measured Blue/Violet at 3.0 Ohms and Violet/WhiteR at 6.2 Ohms. The schematic indicates start coil at 2.4 to 3.8 and Main coil at 2.4 to 3.6.
Am I measuring the coils correctly and is my motor getting weak?
Is the starter coil the one getting weak?

If you hear a loud noise when you try to start the dryer, you have a bad motor. Burnt start winding or bad bearings.
