Model Number: LER7646DZO Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
MY whirlpool dryer will not start. The timer seems to be working fine. When I set the timer, and push the on button it just clicks. It will not click again until I open the door and reclose it.

Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL LER7646DZ0 | AppliancePartsPros.com Here is the wiring diagram http://www.servicematters.com/docs/w...%203401723.pdf Not sure what the click would be. Might be the push to start relay activating. If you have a meter check that the power is OK. If you do not have a meter flip the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. Next to check would be the thermal fuse Item 23 in Section 3. Unplug the unit, remove one wire from it and check it with a meter should be 0 ohms. If you do not have a meter. Unplug the unit, remove both wires from the fuse, short them together and tape them up so they cannot short to the frame. Plug the unit in and see what happens. If the fuse is blown replace it ASAP as it is a critical safety device. If it is shot be sure to clean/check the blower wheel and the vent system as they are common causes for it going.
