Reconfigured our laundry room. Reran electric with same amp wire- plugged in and now the controls do not work. Checked all the wires and they are showing the correct amount of amps coming in- grounds are good too. The only thing that does work in the light on the inside of the dryer when you open the door. Checked that the light went off when door was shut-it does. Have no idea why now it doesnt work- it was fine before we relocated it. Any ideas on what to try would be greatly appreciated- we are pretty handy- and would rather give it a shot ourselves then fork out hundreds for sears to spend 5 minutes fixing it. Thanks:)Laurellyn & Ralph Reber

Look inside the lower access panel and see if you find some tech notes that may allow you to put it into a test/diagnosis mode.

I am assuming the unit is completely dead, no lights or anything.

On these models L1 power goes to the light and the control board, so it looks like your control board is getting power, but trace the wiring and make sure.

Normally if the control board is getting power but the machine will not run the control board is the problem, but see what diagnosis/tests will tell you and check out the L2 wiring to make sure you do not have a problem there.

Thanks for the information- we got the diagnostic paper out- and yes looks like its the control board. I was hoping it wasnt- but got one on ******** for 75 bucks- much less then what I had anticipated. Hopefully this wont happen again- but thanks to all those who have posted info on this site- its extremely helpful!!

Glad you got it fixed and while that was an expensive part, a tech visit would have cost you so much more.

Thanks for the update
