Does anyone know what part I would need to replace if the belt is fine and the dryer heats up but the drum will not go around? It just stays still and the dryer starts to smell like burnt rubber.

are you able to turn the drum freely by hand while the dryer is off???

Could be a bad motor or a bad idler pulley or possibly the rear bearing.. in this case i think you will have to take it apart to diagnose.
