Dryer not heating

Dryer not heating

Model Number: TGDS740JQ0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years

My Gas dryer will run but will not heat. I put a jumper wire in place of the thermal fuse 3392519, and the burner ignited. I used ohmmeter on the fuse and found it open, and when I reversed the leads found it closed. Is this my problem?
