Model Number: 110.69912990 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
I tried to start my dryer last week and it made a pulsing quiet buzzing noise. I have since torn the entire thing apart, searched extensively on the web and concluded that it was most likely that the motor had gone out. I ordered a new motor and blower which arrived today.
I have installed the new motor/blower, reconnected all wiring (except for the interior light) and just tried to start it. Hoping to hoot, holler, and celebrate, I was extremely frustrated when it only made the same exact sound as before. Is there something else I need to reassemble before it will work? Or did I just buy a new motor/blower for nothing? Any ideas on what else it could be? Thank you! Ads By Google Related Models |

There are two parts I would check: the broken belt switch (#5 on the diagram) and the thermal fuse (#59 on the diagram).
- The broken belt switch Part number: AP3094230 - The thermal fuse Part number: AP3133489 Here is the wiring sheet. Gene.

try to turn the end of cycle signal knob to silent
and/or try to make sure the timer is full off (make it click) I had the same sound - thought it was bad wires arching in the outlet then thought it was bad wires in the electric control panel then tracked the sound (using a home made stethoscope) to the little speaker that emits the end of cycle beep/buzzer even that was the 'source' of the sound - still not sure what the cause was I replaced the circuit board because I lost my heat - fixed the sound - still trying to fix the no heat |

thank you for the advice. I have been without a dryer for near three weeks now and finally broke down and took it to the repair shop. I ran out of clean socks a few days ago
Thanks! |
