I am not sure of the age, just guessed.

My wife over loaded the dryer and after 3 warnings from the dryer it just stopped working. It won't start.

Turning the "on" knob while the dryer cycle is on timed dry, I can hear a clicking noise. But turning the knob while the dryer is on "more dry" cycle it does not make a sound at all.

I found a post on this forum "Dryer won't start" and did the step involved in that post.

- I can spin the drum by hand
- Pressed the door close switch and can still spin the drum by hand.

The post indicates the moter is bad.

I guess my question is: What can happen to a dryer if you over load it?

Which parts can get broken? What should I do?

Thanks
