[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']My Whirlpool duet dryer has a burnt smell.[/FONT]

[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']This is what I have done so far.[/FONT]
· [FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']Pulled off back of unit.[/FONT]
· [FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']Cleaned inside with vacuum[/FONT]
· [FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']Pulled off heating element and cleaned with vacuum[/FONT]
[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif'] [/FONT]
[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']Put back together. Still has a burnt smell and it is inside the drum. Cloths have the same smell.[/FONT]
[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif'] [/FONT]
[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']I assumed that the heating element is bad, but not sure. It puts out heat.[/FONT]

[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']Do you have any additional recommendations for replacement parts?[/FONT]

I doubt it would be the heater unless it has been contaminated by something in the room air in any case it would burn off fairly quickly.
Note it pulls the air from inside the dryer so any smell in the dryer cabinet will end up in the drum.

If it is an electrical smell it could be the motor is overheating or a component on the circuit board. The first thing I would do is smell the motor, You will have to find the cause.
