I am renting a home where there is a dryer that is very old. It is a speed queen. I have taken it apart and cannot find a model number anywhere. The problem started by the dryer blowing the circuit breaker on the fuse box. After testing, it was determined that it was the circuit breaker and that was replaced. The home owner took the dryer apart without marking the wires. There is a box on the top of the motor that is numbered from the bottom up 1 and 6 on the left and 2 4 5 on the right. I found the dryer wiring schematic but do not really understand how to read it. This is my first dryer project. With the way the dryer is wired now, as soon as the timer is started the dryer begins to hum or buzz without the start button being pushed. I'm wondering if it could be a wiring issue. The only identification I can find is a part number on the wiring schematic 54663R1. As of now the dryer is wired with black wires to 1 and 2. These come from the power source and the heating element. Yellow to number 6 which comes from the start switch. Brown to number 5 also from the start switch, white to number 4. There are blue wires from the top of the motor that are plugged into 4 and the slot between the 1 and 6 on the other side that does not seem to have a visible number. Any help would be appreciated.
