Dryer works fine but alarms HE code. Clothes Are "on fire". Replaced Thermistor, still have same issue. Everything is lint free. What else could be the problem?

One of the most common causes of clothes feeling overly hot is a clogged dryer vent system. It can be the exhaust on the exterior of the home or the duct-work leading from the transition hose (Slinky tube) through the wall to the exterior of the home.
Either way if the heat and moisture are not being expelled properly then this (on fire) feeling can occur " literally " (main reason for getting into this profession as a retired firefighter). Either have a professional clean your ducting or if you are up to the task do it yourself, but make sure you have a very, very good air flow at the exhaust point outside the home.......

Supplemental: Dryers need to move 120 to 140 cubic feet of air per minute to effectively remove excess heat and moisture (steam) from the dryer.

Thanks for your advice. I had already made sure that the vent and slinky hose were cleaned out. But, with your suggestion, i replaced the outside vent and replaced slinky hose. Still having the issue. If you have any other suggestions, THANKS in advance.

There may be an internal lint blockage just before the exhaust fan or in the exhaust fan housing. If so completely disassemble unit to clean.

Watch the video from APP up to the 6 minute mark to see how to access the blower wheel area to clean it out.

I have also seen fabric softener sheets cling to and adhere to the lint pre-screen area inside the drum, below the door preventing proper air flow. The sheet will actually melt onto the plastic screen.

The key is to be able to feel full air flow from the exhaust port of the dryer.
