Dryer Repair

Hi everyone..

I am having aproblem with my dryer. It is an older Maytag.
Here is the deal.

The dryer does not heat up.. When I turn it on, the flame does come on for about 10 seconds, then shut off.
then a few minutes will pass..
and once again the flame comes on for about 10 seconds, then shut off.
this is not enough to heat the clothes.

Also, if I put the dryer in auto mode. it does not cycle down. it stays in the same spot.
however, if i use timed drying, the timer does work.

so far, i have changed out the cycling thermometer.. i have also changed out the coils.. two of them..
still no luck..

any thoughts.

Brian,

Most likely the problem is an obstructed dryer vent and/or clogged air ducts inside the dryer and the blower wheel.
