GE DPVH880EJ0MG: Dryer cuts off about 10 minutes into cycle on high, will go longer on medium heat. It will start immediately and run for 2 to 5 seconds then cut off again, cutting off heat and motor. Have cleaned all vents and blower. Replaced Cycling thermostat and Hi Limit thermistor. Motor does not drag and immediately comes on when start is pressed, even when dryer is hot. When I first start the dryer the elements come on and the dryer gets warm. Then they cycle off. The dryer seems to cut off motor and elements when the elements start to cycle for the second time, showing the time remaining on the screen. When the dryer is warm and I press start, you can see the elements start to heat but then the dryer kicks off motor and elements. After a few minutes (10 to 15) you can start it again and when the elements kick in a second time after the initial warm up the dryer will kick off again. Seems to always be around the 8 minute mark on high (second cycle of elements). This happens on any dry cycle sensor or timed. No error codes are showing on screen. When I run the dryer through the service mode everything tests fine. Have tested all thermostats and all check fine. The elements are not broken or grounding out. Don't think it is the motor or capacitor since no motor whine or noise and it doesn't drag when starting. have replace felt and foam in case of leaks. Could the triad cause a problem when hot? Almost bald from pulling out hair! Any suggestions

The motor has a overheat cut off switch. and it sounds like your motor may be over heating due to going bad. The give away to this problem is it will restart after cooling down (10 to 15) minutes. Unfortunately if this is the case replacing the motor is the only solution. This is not uncommon for a machine of your age.

Here is the part you need.
